Katy Bohinc is a poet and mathematician. Bohinc works as a data scientist and engineer in the field of marketing, with over ten years experience operationalizing, measuring, and analyzing results for the world’s largest brand names. She also has three books of poetry and two edited volumes, and is the COO of Tender Buttons Press, a 30-year-old independent publisher of experimental poetry.

Bohinc has studied astrology since 2006 by testing natal chart readings on innocent conversationalists at bars and parties (who tend to love a 45-minute discourse on themselves.) She began researching astrology as a bridge between ancient culture and astrology’s constant references in historical literature (“Let us not be star-crossed lovers!” -Shakespeare, 1597.)

It has long been Bohinc’s dream to study the ancient science of astrology with contemporary statistical methodologies. In the age of big data, this is now possible.
